NORTH CAROLINA,  May 21, 2020 — With COVID-19 disrupting motorcycle gatherings worldwide, and in order to keep our riders safe as well as offer the most joyous and carefree celebration, Women’s Motorcycle Tours has decided to postpone the Suffragists Centennial Motorcycle Ride to 2021. The new event dates are July 31 – August 20, 2021.

The Centennial Ride will now feature one cross-country route, the Portland Celebration Route. Cross-country riders will gather in Portland on July 31, 2021, and embark on a journey East, picking up riders and gaining momentum as the event crosses the United States. The group will travel along scenic two-lane roads, visit historical sites and treat riders to the many splendors of riding across America. A revised and enhanced New York Historical Route will now be offered as a self-guided route option.

Concurrent nationwide Centennial celebrations will now take place on the day following the conclusion of the Centennial Ride, August 21, 2021. These nationwide Centennial Celebrations will coincide with the Women’s Motorcycle Conference, scheduled for August 20-21, 2021. Centennial Celebrations are scheduled in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Dallas, Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando and New York.

“While I am disappointed that COVID-19 has interrupted our 2020 plans for the Centennial Ride, I am quite certain that our 2021 Celebration will be even more spectacular,” said Clickenger. “I am now able to take the ideas collected from two years of planning and development and put them together in new ways to create an event that will leave an even more indelible mark on the history of women and motorcycling.”
